The Asian Pacific American Law Students Association (APALSA) at Washington and Lee University strives to be an academic, social, and political arena for all students who are interested in learning about and supporting Asian and Asian American issues in the law.
We were formed as the Asian American Law Students (AALS) in 1999 at the Washington and Lee School of Law. In 2006, we became a chapter of the National Asian Pacific American Law Students Association and changed our name to APALSA.
However, our goals remain the same: to nurture the professional development of our members, to educate the greater Washington & Lee community about Asian American concerns, and to articulate the needs of our members to the faculty and administration. Because our mission is to cultivate a supportive minority community at the Washington & Lee School of Law, we work closely with many of the other minority groups at the school, and membership is open to law students of every background.
We hope you enjoy navigating the website. If you have any questions or comments, please contact any current member of the Executive Board.
